| 2 narco smugglers arrested | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, March 09: Two narcotic smugglers were today arrested by police with one kilogram of heroin and 11 kilograms of hashish (ganja) from different parts here. The seized contrabands were valued at over six crore rupees. A tip-off led cops to the arrest of a youth from Greater Kailash area, who was carrying about 1 kg heroin with him, police sources said. Identified as Irfan Malik, he hailed from Gool in Ramban. His interrogation could lead to the arrests of some more narcotic smugglers active in the winter capital, the sources added. In another incident, Nalini Yadav was arrested by police from industrial area in Kathua along with a consignment of 11 kg hashish. Originally a resident of Bihar, he was absconding after murdering his associate in Phagwara area of Punjab. Sources said acting on specific information, a police party was engaged to trap the gangster. The accused was getting consignments of banned drugs from UP, Bihar and Nepal, the sources added. His sustained interrogation was on. A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against both the accused at the concerned police stations. Meanwhile, two drug peddlers were arrested along with 750 capsules at Poloura. They were identified as Vijay Kumar of Thathar and Dina Nath of Marjali in Jammu.
