| 95400 cft timber provided to quake affectees of Uri, Tangdhar | | Qazi for proper utilization of development funds | | Srinagar, October 12 - About 95407 cubic feet timber has been issued to earth quake victims of Uri and Tangdar by the end of September this year while 25600 cubic feet timber has been issued to the people of Baramulla assembly constituency. This was stated at a meeting of officers held at Dak Bunglow, Baramulla today under the Chairmanship of Minister for Forests, Environment, Housing and Urban Development Qazi Mohammad Afzal. The meeting was informed that Rs. 8 crore have been released for construction of District Hospital, Baramulla and the building is expected to be completed within four months. Minister of State for R&B, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Mr. Mohammad Khalil Bandh, former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Baramulla Mr. Muzaffar Hussain Baigh, Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Director Local Bodies attended the meeting among senior officers. During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held regarding issuance of timber, construction work of District hospital, Baramulla, upgradation and improvement of roads like Baramulla Sangri Bala road via Sangri Colony, Fatehpora-Dardpora road, Ushkara-Fresthar via Gutiyar road, Baramulla Khadinyar road, Zandfaran-Andoora Namban road, Heewan to Latifaabad road, Zandfaran to Gurivan road and construction of bridges at Kawhar on Nalla Venhum and at Johama. Addressing the meeting, Qazi Afzal asked the concerned officers to make proper utilization of available funds and maximize the benefits of the urban development schemes besides maintaining proper sanitation, drainage and cleaning in their respective wards. Minister of State for R & B, Animal and Sheep Husbandry stressed upon the engineers to gear up developmental works and complete them in a time bound manner so that the maximum people can get benefit of these projects and schemes. Later, Ministers alongwith Mr. Muzaffar Hussain Beigh visited Ushkara village addressed the public gathering there. While addressing a large public meeting at Ushkara, the Former Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Baig said the coalition government initiated several measures to restore normalcy in the state, provide sense of security to the people and strengthen the Indo-Pak relations. He said that as per Common Minimum Programme, the present government has laid focus on the infrastructure development and is making endeavors to solve the problem of unemployment in the state by putting the human resource to proper use to make the state prosperous adding that our motto is to give peace and dignity to the people of the state. He said violence is no solution to Kashmir issue adding that dialogue is the only way to solve this problem. He said it takes some time adding that we have to divert our attention to wards the development of the state. |
