EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 10: Reigning champion, Jammu and Kashmir Bank trounced Jammu and Kashmir Police-A side by a solitary goal to enter the final of the 21st State Football Championship being held at GGM Science College grounds, here. Now, in the final, to be played on March 12, J&K Bank shall face the same opponent in J&K Forest XI at 2.30 pm at the same venue. Earlier, in the second semi-final, played today, J&K Bank registered a narrow 1-0 win over fighting policemen. Bank took first lead in the very 6th minute when Ibrahim Badru netted the ball. It was followed by dilly dallying battle from both sides till J&K Police missed the golden opportunity to brining in an equalizer. Romesh missed the penalty kick awarded in favour of Police in the 67th minute of the 90-minute game. In today's semi-final, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu-Kathua range, Farooq Khan was special guest. The match was officiated by Farooq Shaheen, Farooq Khan, Mazafar and Moon Madan.
