| Bagwal villagers call on DDC Kathua | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Mar 11: A deputation of village Bagwal today called on Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sanjeev Verma under the leadership of former chairman of Kathua Municipality Choudhary Rajinder Singh.
The delegation highlighted the alleged illegal confiscation of 16 kanals of public land by some land grabbers which is used as cremation place for the villagers.
The villagers comprising Master Jagdish Sharma, senior Congress activist Rakesh Sharma, Ramesh Chander, Ganga Ram and Madan Lal alleged that former Sarpanch of Panchayat Channrorian Omkar Nath has illegally encroaching the common land of the villagers which is being used as cremation ground.
They demanded that this 16 kanal land should be registered in revenue records.
DC Sanjeev Verma gave a patient hearing to the villagers and assured them to readdress the problem.
Giving on the spot direction, he deputed Additional DC M Raju to look into the matter and sort it out.
