JAMMU, Mar 12: Continuing with the celebrations of its 125th year of foundation, the Pradesh Congress Committee's (PCC) Celebration Committee in coordination with District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu Urban organized a function here today to commemorate the memory of historic "Dandi March".
To mark the occasion, a large number of party workers including senior functionaries of PCC, DCC, Mahila Congress, INTUC, Youth Congress, NSUI and Seva Dal assembled at PCC headquarter, Jammu.
They started the march amidst slogans of "Mahatma Gandhi Amar Rahey", "Indian National Congress Zindabad".
The party workers were carrying flags, banners and placards in their hands.
The rally after passing through Residency Road, Raghunath Bazaar, Kanak Mandi and Rajinder Bazar culminated at Shaheedi Chowk, where a gathering was addressed by chairman of the 125th Year Foundation Celebration Committee Gurmukh Singh, Om Chopra-President DCC (U) and other senior leaders of the party. They threw light on the central theme, past foundation and future of the Congress party. They also explained in detail the importance of this day. |
