| Priya Darshini conducts Awareness Generation Programme for women | | |

Priya Darshini Indira Mahila Block Society an NGO today organized a five day Awareness Generation Programme October 12-16 for women at Village Langer Panchayat Ghar here today. The programme would cover various issues specifically for women like Health and Nutrition, Family and Community towards the girl child, Self Help Groups, Educational Training of girl child, Effect of Female Foeticide, Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, Fear of Sexual Abuse of the girl child, Nutrition/ Law Rights of girl child, Socio Religious Cultural influences effecting the status of girl child, First Aid Training by Civil Defence, The Need of Attitudinal changes and role of male member of the family and community towards the girl child, Girl Child and Labour, Her contribution in economy which has not received a global recognition as yet. The experts from the above said fields would deliver lecture on these important issues in order to generate awareness among the rural women. Besides that, the organization is also imparting training to the village women for preparing soft toys to help in earning their livelihood and at the same time to make them self dependent. Earlier, Balwant Singh Naib Sarpanch inaugurated the programme. Others who were present on the occasion were Inder Singh, Rajinder Singh, Surjit Singh. The active members of the organization who helped in the smooth conduct of the programme were C.L. Koul, Yogesh Dhar, Rajni, Neha Gupta and Neelam Kumari. Members of Self Help groups who also contributed their bit were Vishno Devi, Pushpa Devi, Santosh and Pooja.
