| Panic grips airport after car catches fire | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 12: Panic gripped the Jammu Airport at Satwari this afternoon after a Maruti car caught fire in the airport parking area.One Vijay Kumar came to drop his brother Yashpal, who was to fly to New Delhi in the Kingfisher flight, at the airport in a Maruti car in the afternoon. Though no private or public vehicle is allowed inside the airport due to security reasons, Vijay took the car inside as he had taken permission for the same. He parked the car in the parking area and went to see off his brother. However, when he came back and started the car, its engine caught fire, police sources said. The incident sparked off panic inside the high-security airport. Fire tenders, which are kept ready at the airport, were pressed into service. Sources said by the time, the firemen reached the spot, the car was burnt completely. It also caused partial damage to the Honda City car (GJ6AG/3501) of airport manager S K Jain. Vijay and Yashpal hail from RS Pura. The burnt car belonged to Vijay's friend Chaman Lal and he had taken it from him to drop his brother at the airport. A case in this connection stands registered at the Satwari police station. Vijay was also being questioned by police.
