Developmental initiatives show discernible results on ground: Chib

POONCH, Mar 13: Reiterating the commitment of the coalition Government to ensure timely completion of various projects and implementation of various welfare schemes, the Minister for Medical Education and Sports, Prof R S Chib today hoped that the executing agencies will endeavour for realizing targets in full.
The Minister, who is also the Chairman of the District Development Board, Poonch, was addressing an officers meeting in the border township this morning.
Prof Chib had a sector-wise review of various development projects and welfare schemes and called for gearing up the field agencies for accomplishment of the works in stipulated time frame. He also gave an overview of initiatives taken for spreading professional and technical education, particularly in the far-flung areas and said that each district will have a Polytechnic College, to train youth in various job oriented avocations.
The Minister also visited the site for proposed Polytechnic College in Poonch.
The Minister, along with Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma, Vice Chairman, Gujjar and Bakerwal Development Board, Choudhry Bashir Ahmed Naz, Vice Chairman, Pahari Development Board, Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, MLA, Mohammed Sharief Niaz, addressed a public meeting and exhorted the people to join the development effort launched by the coalition Government for transforming the socio-economic profile of the State, particularly its far off and remote areas. The Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Kuldeep Khajuri was also present on the occasion.
Prof Chib expressed gratitude to the UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Pradesh Congress President, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz for taking extra care in ensuring the development of remote and border areas. He said that the liberal funding to the State of Jammu and Kashmir has enabled the State Government to execute various programmes with full vigour.
The Minister exuded confidence that with the measures initiated for development of these areas, the quality of life of the people will further improve.
He particularly made a mention of various schemes tailored for tackling the unemployment problem and creating avenues for women and youth under various State and Centrally sponsored schemes and said these will not succeed until the active support and cooperation of the targeted segments of the society.
Madan Lal Sharma and other speakers also highlighted the achievements registered in various sectors of economy and said that the coalition Government would take all required measures for assuaging the urges and aspiration of the people. They maintained that the good work initiated all over the State will be carried forward with missionary zeal and devotion.
The Minister also visited Surankote area of the district. At Poonch, he and other visiting dignitaries were given a rousing reception by the people.
