| Check up and Cataract Surgery camps held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Mar 13: Lions Club Jammu Royal in co-operation with Lions Clubs of Mumbai has in the last three months organised a series of Eye Check up and Cataract Surgery camps at various places around Jammu wherein around 2000 patients have been treated for different eye ailments & provided free medications. Nearly 200 patients requiring cataract surgery were identified. The most recent camp was organised on March 6 at Village Lateir, Bambla, Teh. Pouni in which over 600 patients were examined by a team of 5 doctors from Jammu Medical College. Around 80 cataract patients were identified at this camp and are being operated in batches of 20 patients. Today these patients were visited by members of Lions Club Mumbai and District Governor Dist 321D Lion Rajeev Kukreja, Lion JBS Chowdhary, past Multiple Council Chairman, 1st Vice District Governor Lion Mohinderjit Singh, 2nd Vice District Governor Lion Harish Banga, & Lion Harish Bhai Choksi, Chairman, Lions Journey for Sight (Mumbai) . Later a felicitation program to honour those associated with this project was held at 1 pm at PRESS CLUB, Jammu. All the members were welcomed by the Lion Amit Jandyal, President Lions Club Jammu Royal. Lion Sanjeev Soni briefed them about various social service activities done by the club since its inception in 1994. Lion Sanjay Nagpal was the master of ceremony , Lion Parneesh Mahajan started the program with Invocation and Lion Rajesh Gupta, Chairman of the project thanked all the members for their valued contribution to the project. Momentos and Gifts were presented by the District Governor to Dr. Satsh Gupta. Eye Surgeon, Shri Raj Kumar Gupta, Treat Well Diagonistics Centre, Sh. Rashpal Sharma, Kewal Krishan Puri (Sarpanch) & Krishan lal Sharma etc. |
