Shabir for timely completion of developmental projects

JAMMU, Mar 13: Under Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme Rs 13 crore are being utilized on various irrigation and flood control works in border district Rajaouri. So far Rs 2 crore have been spent on various works under the programme in the area.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Power, CAPD and Transport, Shabir Ahmad Khan, today while inspecting the pace of progress of various ongoing developmental projects in Rajouri.
During the visit, the Minister inspected various Flood Protection works including construction of protection bunds at Malik Market, Fish Farm, Bhalla, Muradhpur in Rajouri. He was apprised that over Rs 56 lakh have been expanded on these works till date.
The Minister also inspected under execution Dak Bungalow, Manjakote, being constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.30 crore.
He was informed that upgradation work of old Dak Bungalow is also being completed at a cost of Rs 52 lakh and these works would be completed during next financial year.
The Minister stressed for timely completion of all ongoing developmental works so that upgraded infrastructure facilities would be created to facilitate the people of the area. He asked the concerned officers and engineers to ensure use of quality material in the execution of the projects.
The Minister inspected various sale outlets of CA&PD in the district.
He checked the quality and quantity of foodgrains.
He instructed the concerned officers to ensure timely stocking of foodgrains at sale outlets and its distribution to the rationees of the area.
He directed for proper maintenance of records and displaying of rate lists besides names of ration holders at sale outlets for the convenience of consumers.
During the tour, the Minister interacted with the locals and enquired about their problems and demands.
He assured them that all their genuine demands would be redressed in phased manner.
