| Placement letters among 16 GCET students distributed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 13: Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik and Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul distributed placement letters among 16 students from Government College for Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu here today. The students were selected from GCET by TATA Consultancy Services as Consultant Engineers with honorarium of Rs. 3.5 lakh per annum. Speaking on the occasion, Malik appreciated the role of Training and Placement Cell of the institute for arranging employment opportunities to young engineers in private sector at home and abroad. He said that the State has immense potential in Human Resources and need to channelize it timely in proper way. The Minister said "our people have earned name and fame in abroad and hoped that new aspirants would create a new way for coming generations by hard working and dedication". In his welcome address, Principal, GCET, Jammu, Dr. Bhupinder Singh said that the college has managed to attract various companies from time to time for placement of its students. He said that by April this year, the companies including National Power Hydro Corporation, Nokia, Punjlloyd and Power Grid of India would visit the institute for the purpose of placement of students in their organisations. |
