| Ladakh elders’ excursion group flagged in | | | Udhampur Oct-12- A 30- member group of elders of Ladakh region returned back after a fortnight excursion trip to Gaya, Bodh-Gaya and Nalanda. The Trishul Division organized the excursion, which was flagged off on September 22 last from Karu Leh. The aim of this tour was to provide the Buddhist people an insight into the Buddhist culture and customs prevalent in other parts of the country so as to broaden their outlook and also to amalgamate them into the national mainstream. The visit to these places of reverence was a dream comes true for the Buddhist people who evinced keen interest in visiting the places like Bodh Gaya where the Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and Nalanda, the famous center of learning, patronized by the great Buddhist Kings. The excursion group on return expressed deep satisfaction over the smooth conduct of the trip and complimented the Army for conducting the tour that helped them to know about Buddhist customs and traditions followed in India.
