| Slathia interacts with Brick Kiln Association | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 13 : Describing Self-employment ventures available under various schemes as a potent tool to tackle unemployment, the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S. S. Slathia exhorted upon the youth to come forward for becoming entrepreneurs rather than hankering after white collar jobs. He was addressing a function organized by Brick Kiln Owner's Association (BKOA), Jammu here today. The Minister said that the Government is keen to create more and more industrial units in the State to boost economy and to speed up the pace of various schemes for progress and prosperity of the people. Responding to the charter of demands put-forth by the Association, the Minister urged the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Pawan Kotwal to conduct a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner and representatives of BKOA for reviewing the rates fixed for brick kilns. He hoped that immediate action will be taken in this regard. With regard to issuance of No Objection Certificate from Pollution Control Department, Slathia asked them to cooperate with the Pollution Control Department as per their guidelines. He assured them that the genuine demands including providing status of industry to brick kiln as industry would be looked into. Chairman, BKOA, Jugal Mahajan also spoke on the occasion and briefed the Minister about the problems being faced by the Association. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Jammu Range, Farooq Khan, General Secretary, BKOA, Prabhu Dayal Gupta and other members of the Association attended the function.
