| Discussion on Budget begins in Legislative Council | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 13: Initiating discussions on the budget in Legislative Council, Mohammad Rashid Qureshi described the budget 2010-11 as people-friendly and said the coalition Government has taken over the reins under the challenging circumstances and taken steps in ameliorating the lot of the people. He said the tempo of development is being carried by the Government very efficiently. He said aspirations of the people from all walks of life have been taken into consideration while drafting the budget for the next year. He appreciated the steps for exempting several items from VAT and other Tax Fold. Moreover, 25% exemption for transfer of land to women is a encouraging step towards wom-en empowerment. Hailing the budget, Ghulam Qadir Pardesi said that is for the first time that primary sectors have been identified and given priority to flourish during the next year. He said farming community is delighted for exemption of several agriculture instruments from the Tax which is a welcome step.
