| Newly appointed BJP general secretaries felicitated | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 14: To felicitate the newly nominated state general secretaries of BJP, party activists of Ward No 24 and 25 of Rehari Colony organised a function in honour of Sat Sharma and Usha Choudhary. The programme was attended by hundreds of party workers besides local residents of both these wards. Expressing his gratitude to the party for bestowing the responsibility of the general secretary's post, Sat Sharma said that BJP is the only political party which always promotes the people who work with dedication. It is not the party of a particular family. He stressed on the party activists that they should reach the people, educate them about the discriminatory policies being adopted by the NC-Congress coalition and ensuring that they remain vigilant for the interests of all the nationalist people of the state. Speaking on the occasion, Usha Choudhary also expressed her thanks to the party activists of the area. She said that prior to being elevated to this new responsibility; she was the state president of BJP Mahila Morcha as well as the JMC Corporator from Rehari. Choudhary said that even the political parties have now realised that the women can play a very important role in nation building and hence they be given due political representation in decision making bodies of the country. Appreciating the BJP for taking lead towards granting reservation to the women, she said it was the BJP, which had shown the road to other parties by giving 33 per cent reservation in its organisational set up and now its unstinted support to the bill introduced by the Congress-led UPA, is yet another example of its commitment for the equal treatment to women in all matters and at all levels.
