Woman allegedly involved in kidnapping of seven children arrested

Police arrested a woman from Krishna Nagar locality here allegedly involved in kidnapping some children from a Jagratra at Canal road two days back.
Following disclosure by the EARLY TIMES about the kidnapping and involvement of a woman, the Police swung into action and took the alleged accused into custody for questioning.
Acting on the directions of the senior Police officers, a Police team from Nowabad headed by SHO Kulbir Handa laid a trap in the Krishsna Nagar locality and arrested the alleged accused, who has been sent to police lock up at Women Police Station Canal for interrogation and a case under section 343/323.364 RPC under FIR NO 154/2006 registered against the accused identified as Rajni Sharma wife of late Jatinder Sharma of Krishna Nagar.
According to the reports seven boys were kidnapped when the people were busy in a Jagrata. Some unidentified persons whisked away the boys and took them to Bahu Fort area and en-route they were picked up by a woman in a three wheeler and took them to her house where she kept them captive and beat them mercilessly. However, the wit and valour exhibited by one of the kidnapped boy who managed to give a slip to the woman helped in releasing the remaining six boys from the captivity of the woman. After managing to give a slip to his kidnapper, the boy narrated the story to his parents who in turn informed the parents of other boys who raided the house and got their kids released from the captivity.
Since then the parents as also the inhabitants of the area have been strongly demanding the arrest of the woman reportedly involved in kidnapping of the boys and finally a case was registered and the woman taken into custody last evening on the disclosures made by this paper. Earlier, the Police had refused to register a case and assured the aggrieved
that the matter would be resolved through mutual understanding.
