Court grants bail to headmaster allegedly involved in bribery

Jammu, Mar 15: Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu J R Kotwal allowed the bail application filed by accused Satish Chander Chibber the then headmaster, Govt High School Khah No 1 Tehsil Budhsal, who was caught red-handed by the VOJ on March 10, 2010 while demanding and accepting Rs 20,000 from one Nissar Hussain to hush-up an enquiry initiated against the complainant. The accused was arrested and booked u/s 5(2) r/w 5(1) (d) PC Act 2006 and section 161 RPC. While granting bail to the applicant in custody of VOJ for last 4 days, Court observed that sufficient time for doing investigation which might have required his custody, has been availed, the allegations against the accused are not sufficient for refusal of bail to him at this stage. With these observations court admitted accused to bail with the direction that he shall be released on furnishing personal bond of amount Rs 10,000 along with surety in of same amount. Advocate DS Chouhan appeared for the applicant. --JNF
