EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 15: A deputation of the Guru Nanak Foundation, (J&K), Srinagar, called on the Governor, N N Vohra, at Raj Bhavan, here today and presented their demands to him. The deputation demanded, inter-alia, improved arrangements for the security of the Sikh families in the Valley, at least some representation to the Sikh community in the management of the affairs of the State and the Legislature, and greater employment opportunities for the youth of the community in the various State and the Central Government departments. Other demands projected by the deputation include representation to the Sikh community from Kashmir Valley in the State Legislature, various Boards and other institutions. The deputation comprised the Chairperson of the Foundation, Ranjit Singh Sarhadi, Vice President, Ranbir Singh Raina and Secretary, S. Teja Singh. The Governor gave a patient hearing to the deputation and agreed to convey their fears, concerns and aspirations to the Chief Minister. The Principal Secretary to the Governor, Raj Kumar Goyal was present on the occasion.
