| Unemployed PTs demand appointment as ReK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 15: Over-aged Unemployed Trained Physical Teachers (PT) have demanded one time relaxation for them and their appointment as Rehbar-e Khel (ReK). Addressing media persons here today, the representatives of these 'aggrieved' youths, whose number is about 500, alleged that disregarding the J&K High Court direction by the government to consider our candidature on merit adding that not a single aspirant amongst us was selected though our interviews were conducted apparently to hoodwink the High Court. Our claim is rejected on account of being over-aged; they alleged adding that all of us, belonging to various districts of the states are duly trained as physical teachers. But since no selection was done since 1980, we became over aged and hence were declared illegible for government jobs. We knocked the door of the High Court and in response to our writ petition, the Court directed the government to conduct our interviews also and not reject our claims on account of being over aged. They said that former Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad had assured us that in our case one time relaxation of age bar would be given and we would be appointed as Rehbar-e- Khel. The unemployed over-aged PTs appealed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to adjust them as Rehbar-e- Khel as was assured by his predecessor. Those who addressed the press conference included President Sunil Kumar, Vice President Harjeet Singh, Secretary Surinder Kumar besides others.
