SRINAGAR, Mar 16: Security forces Monday arrested a militant along with a pistol in the heart of Srinagar city, besides busting a hideout of militants in Pulwama district.
Noor Hussain of Thathri in Doda district of Jammu region, was arrested by police from Regal chowk in the city late last night. A pistol along with a magazine and seven rounds was also recovered from him.
Police said Hussain was active in militancy for the last several years and was wanted in connection with a large number of militancy-related incidents, particularly in Doda.
Meanwhile, police and Rashtriya Rifles busted a militant hideout at Wustarwan forest in Medoora area of Tral in Pulwama district, 40 km from here, and recovered an AK assault rifle, one magazine and 38
rounds from there, the police added.
