| Bangladesh Army chief visits Siachen Glacier | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Mar 16: Bangladesh Army chief General Mohammad Abdul Mubeen today visited the icy-heights of Siachen glacier in Jammu and Kashmir and lauded Indian Army personnel serving in the area. General Mubeen is the first army chief of a Muslim-majority country to visit the harsh environment along with a delegation of four Bangladesh Army officers. The glacier was considered the world's highest battlefield till November 2003, when a ceasefire came into force between India and Pakistan. The Bangladesh Army chief, who was accompanied by his wife, also visited the 14 Corps headquarters in Leh where he was received by its General Officer Commanding Lieutenant General S K Singh, a defence spokesman told . On arrival, General Mubeen visited the Hall of Fame and paid homage to the martyrs at the war memorial, the spokesman said.
