Kathua, Mar 16: An annual day was celebrated by the Government Degree College of Kathua by organizing a mega programme in which students of the college performed various cultural activities and songs.
On the occasion the Minister for higher education Abdul Malik was the chief guest,while Minsiter of state for higher education Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, MLA Charanjit Singh and the DC Kathua Sanjeev Verma were the special guests and also laid foundation stone in the premises of the college for the construction of administrative block of cost near about Rs. 190 lacs.
The programme began with lighting of the traditional lamp by the chief guest along with other special guests the students performed a colourful cultural programme which tickled the audience to uproarious laughter.
On the occasion the two books of titled as "Anubhooti' comprising with Geet and Ghazal sangrah and other titled as "Nai Kavita Ka Saund-araya" written by Pro. A.K Malhotra and Tilak Raj Sharma respectively released by the chief guest.
The principal A.K Malhotra briefed the annual report of the college performances and activities.
During speaking on the occasion the Hon'ble minister for higher education Sh. Abdul Gani Malik congratulated entire students and entire staff members of the college for the successful and glorious performances of the annual programme.
On the occasion the medals and prizes were awarded to the meritorious students who have excellent academics records, to the best athletes, sportsmen, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers.
