| SDP criticizes PDP's role in PR (Disqualification) Bill | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 16: Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) has criticized Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for introducing Permanent Resident (Disqualification) Bill in current session of the state assembly. Addressing party's women delegates here today, President SDP, Dr Darakshan Andrabi criticized Permanent Resident Disqualif-ication Bill's presentation by PDP. She said that it is again a very unfortunate move of PDP, broadly speaking of party's negative and biased mindset which it has been propagating in the state for the last many years now. PDP knows the fate of the bill but it has used this move as a silent landmine which can again lead the state to severe unrest and polarization as desired by Mehbooba and her brigade, Andrabi added SDP leader said it is very unfortunate to face such a parochial move, when whole of the country has initiated the historical move of providing 33% reservation to women in politics, a party led by a women has presented this anti- women bill. She alleged that this bill speaks of a criminal discrimination against women which has been nourished in societies due to ignorance of rights and enforced by conservatives. Now when education has enlightened us all about the rights of women such type of steps only speak of our backwardness or dangerous bias. In both the cases, this move of PDP is strongly condemnable, said Andrabi She requested all political parties, intelligentsia, social scientists and civil society to come out forcibly against PDP's move.
