kathua, Mar 17: People's Democratic Party today burnt the effigy of the chairman of pollution control board, Jammu and kashmir for failure to control the poisonous and other dangers emission of gases in industrial area Kathua. The protest demonstration was led by the district president S Surinder Singh and Zonal President Sh Vinod Gupta and Block President S. Jagdeep Singh regretted over the non seriousness to address the pollution problems due to 14 cement industries, 7 metal industries all paper mills and other chemical industries .The President S Surinder Singh said that all the cement industries are illegally running in just 4-8 kanal while the fact is that for the installation of cements industries require at least 100 canals but the industries and pollution department both took many lakh as bribe to install the industries illegally and put the lives of the thousands of Kathua people in danger.
They said that the pollution control board is playing with the lives of Kathua people by getting the bribes from these industrialists and result is entire the Kathua is in the grip of intensive pollution. So the PDP unit district Kathua has launched anti pollution movement to root out these pollution causing industries. and also their illegal nexus with the department of pollution control board would be exposed to save the people of Kathua from pollution and in this regard we also appeal to the senior leader of PDP Mehbooba Mufti.
