| BJP concerned over rise in militancy in Valley | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 17: Expressing concern over the rise in militant attacks on security forces and the civilians in Kashmir during the past few days, . BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas today said that rise in the militancy-related incidents was a slap on all leaders and political parties, who have been demanding withdrawal of security forces from the state on the plea that the situtaion has achieved normalcy. Manhas said that the parties like PDP has been repeatedly demanding withdrawal of the troops from the State. The most unfortunate part is the stand of NC leader and the state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who too has adopted the same line and even approached the Union Home Minister P. Chidambram to withdraw forces, who in response, ordered withdrawal of 30,000 troops in one go without taking ground realities into consideration. The BJP Chief reminded the PDP and the NC leaders that the army and para military forces were deployed in the state in the days when no one was feeling secure and there existed the rule of gun. Almost all the top leaders from valley had left valley, most of them even went to UK, USA and other countries and it was the army and the nationalist people who restored the faith of the people, besides giving a tough fight to the militants, who were kiling innocent people in the state. ``Had the army and para militarty forces not taken responsibility of protecting the lives and properties of the people, today the state would have been a land without population,;; he added. Shamsher Singh Manhas said no doubt there has been little improvement in the situation but the militancy has not been wiped out totally, hence the need of the hour is to deploy more forces . He also urged the Governor to submit the report of the present scenario to the union government and recommend free hand to the security forces so that lives of the innocent people are saved and the militancy is brought to an end. He also reiterated his party's demand that the PDP and NC leaders should sent back their heavy contingent of Black Cat Commandos and policemen, come out of bullet proof vehicles and live like common people before asking for withdrawal of security forces from the state.
