| JJSF organizes football tournament in memory of martyrs | | |

To pay homage to Brij Mohan, Subash Chander, Gulshan Handa and S. Gurcharan Singh in the martyr’s f 1966 and sons of the soil, a football tournament has been introduced by the Jammu Joint Student’s Federation (JJSF) in memory of these martyrs. The trophy has been named as ‘students Martyrs Trophy’ this year tournament starts from October 8ht and final match will be played in October 18.
Talking to the media persons here president JJSF Pushpinder Singh disclosed that this tournament will be regular feature with running trophy to the winner and runner teams. He said, JJSF initiated certain steps to recall the sacrifices of these great martyrs and is continuously observing three days festival on 16th, 17th, 18th Oct every since 1991 for the peace of these departed souls. An overwhelming response of the people of the Jammu region has been received in this regard.
He further elaborated that the ongoing Chhatra Shaheed Football Tournament has evoked a great interest for football among the Youngsters. He also complemented Jammu & Kashmir football association, Jammu wing for its timely for conducting the tournament. He praised role played by J&K police for arrangements in organizing the tournament. JJSF has decided to make this tournament a national level event with co-ordination of J & K police. He said JJSF would take every possible step to reward the best players in the tournament.
Speaking on the occasion Pratap Singh, and Bhanu Pratap Singh (President, GGM Science College) exherted that the incident which took place yesterday in which student of 9th class has lost his life as his Principal tortured him a shameful act. He should be booked for murder under the law the school namely “Harminder Public School” should be derecognized immediately.
