| Policy to regulate fee structure, wages in private institutions: Peerzada | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 18: Minister for School Education, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, today listed the measures being taken by the Government to regulate the private educational institutions, including fee charged from the students, wages paid to the teaching staff and admissions. He said that it has been made mandatory on such institutions to admit 20 to 25 percent students belonging to Below Poverty Line families. Replying to the supplimentaries on a question by Rafi Ahmad Mir, the Minister said that the Government has come up with a clear policy for establishing reasonable fee structure for private schools. He said the wages being given to the teaching staff are also being governed by the Wage Board. He said to enforce Wage Board scales, the schools have been asked to pay the salary through cheques. The Minister also informed that a legislation, defining rules for the regulation of private schools, was also being brought by the Government soon. He also gave details of the set norms for opening private schools of various levels. Nazir Gurezi, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat, M Y Tarigami, Harshdev Singh and Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan raised supplementaries on the question.
