| NC fails on all fronts: Mehbooba | | |
Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 19: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti said that people of the State have started comparing performance of the present dispensation with the previous Congress-PDP led coalition regime due to the wrong policies being adopted by the National Conference led government. Addressing a public meeting in Marh assembly segment, PDP chief reminded the gathering that previous regime headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has not only carved out a path of equitable development but also empowered all regions and sub-regions of the State. "Instead of giving equal treatments to all regions, this government has been adopting discriminating attitude towards certain areas", she alleged and told the gathering that some pockets were deliberately ignored by the ruling coalition. "Constituencies represented by opposition are ignored in developmental and other related activities", she observed and regretted that present government especially the ruling National Conference leadership has been acting in vindictive manner. "What to say to involving opposition in bigger agenda of development, the ruling National Conference even ignore its coalition partners in taking important policy decisions", she said while pointing towards the important decisions which were taken by the National Conference without taking its partners into confidence. "In the Mufti Mohammad Sayeed led coalition, a number of parties were part of that government but no decision was taken without taking partners into confidence", she said, adding, "during the previous regime there was a sense of belongingness among all coalition partners but the present government lacks the same". She, however, attributed that the National Conference leadership has been taking unilateral decisions on important issues and other partners feeling ignored. Calling upon the people to strengthen PDP, she said that her party would not allow this government to continue its anti-people policies."We have enough strengthen to control this government from taking anti-people steps", she said and asserted that due to support of the common masses PDP has been emerged as a biggest political forces in the State.
