| Bhalla inspects dev works, lays foundation of Rs 1 cr tube well | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 19: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla said that a comprehensive plan has been enforced to provide adequate drinking water facilities to people in summer season. Minister was addressing the gathering after laying the foundation stone of tube well at Trikuta Nagar in Sector-9, coming up at a cost of Rs. 1crore by May 2010. Superintending Engineer, Public Health Engineering, Ashok Kapoor and other senior officers of PHE, PDD and R&B were present on the occasion. Bhalla said that with the completion of this tube well, the drinking water scarcity in Sector 4, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 14 of Trikuta Nagar and its adjoining areas would be reduced to lowest ebb. He said that coalition government was committed to provide all civic amenities to the people of three regions of the State for which a number of reformative measures have been introduced at all levels. Minister instructed the executing agency PHE to dig deep drill hand pumps in the peripheries of Trikuta Nagar so that the people could not face any problem in summer season. He said that it is the duty of Coalition Government to provide all basic amenities to the people including adequate drinking water, health, power, education, drainage system at their doorsteps. Earlier, Bhalla inspected the ongoing development works of Nallah, bridge at Trikuta Nagar East Extension which has been completed at a cost of Rs. 16 lakh for modernization of Sanjay Nagar park. He asked the floriculture department to complete it within stipulated time, for which Rs. 35 lakh has been earmarked. He said that the park would be developed on modern lines in providing walkway, sitting benches besides steel grill along the canal. Later, as a part of Navratra festival, minister also attended the Maa Durga Jagran at Sain Nagar in Trikuta Nagar and prayed for peace and prosperity of the State.
