| NSF protest inter-district recruitments, burns Govt effigy | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 19: National Secular Forum (NSF) launched agitation against the State Government for its proposed move to ban the process of Inter-District Recruitment and maintaining criminal silence over the whole issue. Nearly 100 student activists of NSF led by Vikas Sharma, president, assembled on the campus, University of Jammu (JU) and burnt effigy of Government condemning its anti-Jammu attitude. NSF activists raised slogans against the Government and alleged that the decision to ban inter-district recruitments was a politically motivated one and against the wishes the youth of the State. Speaking on the occasion, Vikas asked the Government to clear its stand for suggesting ban on the inter-district recruitments. Those sitting at the helm of affairs must tell people that how Inter-district recruitment process started by the previous State Government is proving to be dangerous and to whom, he added. He slammed government for initiating such dividing measures when there were already many other burning issues prevailing in the contemporary scenario. It is to mention here that Jammu candidates, particularly those belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories have been benefited from the Inter-district recruitment process. Also, the process has been proved beneficial to the youth of Kashmir as well. J&K Public Service Commission gives unfair deal to Jammu candidates by keeping their number in the final selection much below at 10 percent level. Had government been serious on the right of Jammu youth it should have asked the PSC to refrain from such activities? "NSF is up for the cause of all the youth irrespective of their caste, creed or other considerations; we warn government against banning the Inter-district recruitment process. If at any stage, government plans to ban it NSF activists would launch strong agitation in all corners of the province. I want to remind the government that NSF is a result oriented organization and not just a paper tiger," Sharma committed.
