| Dy. CM for imparting quality education to students | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, Mar 21: The Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has asserted that the Coalition Government has adopted a pro-active approach in providing quality education to students so that after attaining education they could prove an asset to the society. The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at an Annual Day function organized by a school today where he was chief guest on the occasion. MLA Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia, District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Joint Director Education, Jammu, V.M. Raina, DIG (STC) BSF, Asif Aley, SSP Udhampur, Surinder Gupta, staff, parents and students were present to witness the function. While lauding the role of private educational institutions in the State in doing extremely well both academically and in other co-curricular activities to enable their students to compete well in competitive tests at all levels, Tara Chand said that the State Government is equally concerned in imparting standard education to students and extending its reach to every nook and corner of the State with a focus on providing each access to students of economically and educationally backward pockets of the State. Highlighting the achievements of present Government, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Coalition Government has done well in raising the literacy rate in the State with the opening of a number of educational institutions from Primary to University level besides sanctioning two Central Universities in both the regions the State. The MLA, Udhampur, Balwant Singh Mankotia while congratulating the management of the school hoped that they would do their best in over all personality development of the students at Udhampur in times to come. The Deputy Chief Minister also distributed prizes to students excelling in academics, sports and other co-curricular activities. He also took a round of exhibition of painting and crafts made by the students.
