Early Times Report Udhampur, Mar 21: In order to spread legal awareness among the rural masses, a legal literacy camp and Lok Adalat were organized in the premises of Sub Judge Court, Ramnagar, yesterday. The camp was organized by Ms Kalpana Revo, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Ramnagar under the guidance of Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Udhampur, Mr. Ashok Kumar. The camp was attended by Tehsildar, Ramnagar besides other Tehsil Level Officers, Advocates and large gathering of people. The people were given knowledge about the legal aid, plea bargaining and Lok Adalats. The Advocates as well as members of Legal Services Committee helped in negotiations and reconciliation for the amicable settlements of disputes of litigants. In the Lok Adalat, as many as 12 cases of various natures were taken, out of which five cases were disposed off. Besides that as many as 14 traffic challans were taken up and all of them were disposed off with a recovery of compounding fine of Rs.10, 500 on the spot.
