Chib, Madan, Sham lay foundation stone of Baba Bhawan

JAMMU, Mar 21: Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, R.S. Chib, Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma and Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma jointly laid foundation stone of Baba Dharam Chand Bhawan at Chib Sthan, Nud, Akhnoor today.
The Bhawan is expected to cost Rs 45 lakh, out of which Rs. 8 lakh have been released. The funds for the purpose have been provided by Chib and Madan Lal out of their Constituency Development Fund (CDF). The Department of Rural Development Akhnoor Block shall complete the construction of 100x60 ft. hall (Bhawan) within 6 months in the first phase, to cater to the needs of local people, especially Chib community.
The design of the Bhawan has been prepared by Vastukar Architect, Brijindar Singh.
The Minister was informed that in the second phase another floor will be constructed in the Bhawan for housing exhibition-cum- museum hall, conference hall, kitchen and toilet block.
Later, addressing a gathering of SSB Volunteers Action Committee on the occasion, Prof Chib saluted the secular souls of Akhnoor for rendering selfless services for the people by laying their lives for Hindu-Muslim unity and guarding borders.
Chib appealed all secular forces to strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and unity,, brotherhood and discipline among the community.
Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma lauding the role of volunteers for defending the State from vested interests said that the officers who joined SSB after attaining superannuation from Government services can play a pivotal role in dealing with security problems in border areas.
On the demand of developing a project of construction of a park near Baba Bhawan, Sharma said that the matter will be given due consideration after studying its modalities in depth.
Member Parliament, Madan Lal Sharma in his speech expressed gratitude to Nud people for their support in Parliamentary election. He said that the people of Nud are patriotic, bold, brave and secular and their grievances shall be mitigated as early as possible.
