| Excelling in all fields of education is imperative for students: Malik | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 21: Government for Women College Gandhi Nagar ,today celebrated the Annual Day-cum-prize distribution function in the college auditorium Minister for Higher Education, Abdul Gani Malik, who was the chief guest on the occasion stated that excelling in all fields of education is imperative for students in higher education which provides platform for their bright future in various capacities in life. Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla, Minister of State for Higher Education, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education, N. K. Verma and Special Secretary, Higher Education, Pervaiz Malik, Principal of the college Prof. Nalini Kohli, Principals of various colleges, students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff members were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Malik said that such type of functions give chances to students by presenting their hidden talent through co-curricular activities He assured the college authorities that further development of college would be taken up by which more facilities would be made available for the college staff and students as a whole. The Minister asked the students to work hard for coming exams and achieve 100% results for the institution. He asked the teaching fraternity to provide quality education to students so that they could become a good citizens. He said that teachers and parents are the main architect who shape the personality of the children. Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla also spoke on the occasion and thanked Abdul Gani Malik for his initiatives in the field of higher education. He said that 'Education is a priority sector of the Coalition Government. For providing higher education to the students, he said many Degree Colleges have been opened up and upgraded with all infrastructural facilities especially in the far-off areas of the State.Later, Malik and Bhalla also distributed mementos among the meritorious students who excelled in co-curricular and academic activities.
