| Govt committed to uplift weaker section of society: Dy CM | | Felicitates people on Guru Nabha Dass Jayanti | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 20: Reiter-ating the Government's resolve to uplift the weaker sections of the society , the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand has said that numerous developmental and welfare schemes have been launched throughout the State to benefit the people belonging to backward classes, scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other weaker sections of the society. The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing Guru Nabha Dass Jayanti celebrations at Nabha Dass temple, Dogra Hall, Jammu today. The Deputy Chief Minister said that it is the endeavour of the Government to make J& K a prosperous State adding that all out efforts, for equal development of all sections of the society are being made and it is being ensured that benefits percolate down to the people at grass roots level. The Deputy Chief Minister, on the occasion, felicitaded the people and threw light on the life of Guru Nabha Dass. He lauded the services of Guru Nabha Dass, who all along his life worked for brotherhood and welfare of the weaker sections without caste creed and colour. Earlier, a memorandum of demands regarding Political reservation, SC Commission, lifting of slaughter house, continuation of inter district recruitment, housing colony for SC community and housing loans on less interest and land fee under Roshni Act were put forth, and the Deputy Chief Minister assured them of proper action. Later, the Deputy Chief Minister released video CD on the life and works of Guru Nabha Dass.
