| Jawan kills himself near LoC in Poonch | | | Jammu: An army jawan today allegedly committed suicide by shooting himselfdead with his service rifle at a forward location near the Line ofControl (LoC) at Jhallas in Poonch.
This is the second such incident in Poonch in the last 48 hours.Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO), Naib Subedar Ganga Ram had allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle at Mendhar Friday last.
The incident at Jhallas took place this afternoon when sepoy Rajinder Kumar of 39 Rashtriya Rifles, who was on duty at a forward post near the LoC, shot himself dead with his service rifle.
Army sources said hearing the gunshot, other jawans rushed to the site and found Rajinder lying dead in a pool of blood.
Though the concerned police had registered a case in this connection, army too had ordered a court of inquiry into the incident, the sources added. |
