| Smuggling bid foiled; two nabbed with 11 cattle | | |

KATHUA, Mar 22: Foiling an attempt to smuggle milch animals from Punjab to Kashmir, police today arrested a truck driver and its conductor with 11 cattle at Hatli Morh near here.
The truck (JK02A/2638) was intercepted by cops on the national highway at Hatli Morh during routine checking of vehicles. Police sources said during its checking, cops recovered 11 cattle, which were being smuggled from Punjab to Kashmir. The truck was seized and its driver and conductor were arrested, the sources added.
The accused were identified as driver Lal Hussain and conductor Hamid Ali, both residents of R S Pura. A case stands registered against them at the Hatli Morh police station under relevant sections of law. |
