3/22/2010 11:46:22 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 22: The all J&K SC/ST retired employees forum have decried the ban to be imposed on inter district or province recruitments by the government on the intention of some vested persons. Addressing a press conference here today the president of the forum Seva Dass Digra said it is an attempt by some MLAs to press the government to impose ban on recruitments. He said as per the constitution and the standing direction of the J&K high court and that of the supreme court of India any SC/ST or any other candidate so long as he is inhabitant of J&K, can apply against any available post or vacancy within the state and as per the norms this has been followed till date. He said why has this become indigestible for the political circles of some area is a matter of great concern and it seems under a well designed plan the SCs and STs for whom the appointments/ recruitments serve as the only life line for livelihood are again becoming the target of high handedness, maltreatment and economic degradation by snatching from them the constitutionally guaranteed concessions under reservation and added the first set back these communities have suffered from the so called healing touch policy of the PDP government regime by promulgation of SRO 294 which proved as an eeling, ailing and reeling touch for these communities. Now the proposed ban of this coalition is going to be a crucial bane for these community again. There can be no other bigger height of injustice for the poor communities, as this, he added. The forum appeals to the chief minister and Dy. Chief minister in particular and to all legislature of the house to rise above the party cadres to see the things in real perspective with the future ramification of the proposal, and take a decision to continue the inter district appointments and the reservation benefit of the SC/STs and other reserved categories, throughout the state as before and followed till date. He said proposal should not got to create a fissure between the word and deed to send a wave of indignation and frustration to these sections of society to make them remember the pathetic episodes of their fore fathers. Be kind enough to deliver justice to prevent them to come on the roads to lauch agitation and demonstrations.

Present on the occasion Mohan Lal Hans, Lal Chand Bhagat, GL Thapa, Nagar Mal, JR Aryan, GL Lakhotra, Biru Ram.
