| Mosque badly damaged in fire | | | Early Times report
JAMMU: A mosque was badly damaged in a devastating fire at Pochal in Kishtwar in the wee hours of Monday morning. The fire, which emanated from a corner at about 3 am, soon engulfed the whole of the religious place, police sources said. The flames were first spotted by some people living in the close vicinity of the mosque. After they raised alarm, villagers gathered outside the burning structure.
After someone informed police and fire brigade, at least three fire tenders were pressed into service. By the time the flames were controlled from spreading further, the mosque had suffered huge damages, the sources added. Sources said though the exact cause of fire was yet to be ascertained, preliminary investigations by police revealed that it could be electric short-circuit.
A case in this connection stands registered at the concerned police station. |
