| Saroori describes road connectivity as priority of the Government | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 23: The Minister for R&B G.M Saroori today laid foundation of 315 meter span bridge being constructed over Nallah Tarnah at Mangloor in Kathua district at an estimated cost of Rs. 22.98 crore. The bridge, when completed would benefit about 35000 people of 15 villages including Dorssi, Kaliari, Fourlane and Borthail of the district. Member Parliament, Chaudhry Lal Singh, Chief Engineer, R&B, D.L. Sharma, MD, JKPCC, Tehsin Mustaffa, Superint-endent Engineer, P.L. Bushan and other senior engineer of R&B accompanied the Minister. The Minister instructed the Chief Engineer to come up with a proposal for construction of a bridge at Jakhole Juthana and submit the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the same at the earliest. Addressing people at Tarnah, Mr. Saroori said that road connectivity is the priority of the coalition Government as it is imperative for all development, adding colossal funds have been provided for construction of new roads besides expansion and upgradation of existing road network. The Minister said that Government would never dither from its commitment and assured that all un-connected areas of the State would be connected through a sound road network. He said the Government is serious in providing jobs to the educated youth, adding the recently announced Sher-i-Kashmir employment package is one step taken by the Government in this direction. He appealed youth to come forward and take the benefit of the scheme. The Minister advised youth to not to hanker after Government jobs, but try to establish their own income generating units and for this purpose, low interest loan is being provided by the financial institutions. Regarding the IAY complaint, the Minister directed district administration to look into the matter and settle the grievance of the people at first hand. While responding to the water scarcity in the area, the Minister assured people that the matter would be taken up with the concerned ministry soon. The Minister also visited Rajbagh and took stock of the development works taken up by Ground Water Division.
