Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru, Sukh Dev remembered

Miran Sahib, Mar 23: Saksham Samaj Sankapl (Triple-S) a voluntary association, organized a programme on the 78th martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Miran Sahib, here today. A Mashaal taken out Triple-S and culminated at Shaheed Bhagat Singh park, was joined by the large number of people and also attend various programme in the park.
Rajni Sharma, the president of association, highlighted the importance of the day and how the ideas of these freedom fighters are still relevant in present system which is characterized by social, institutional and structural inequalities. She put forward the need for united actions especially to youths. On the occasion clippings of 'the legend of Bhagat Singh' were shown which was followed by further explanation by the members and its importance in present context.
Meanwhile, activists of Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) paid rich tribute to great freedom fighters namely Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev. The activists garlanded the photos of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev and raised slogans like "Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev Amar Rahin", "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". While addressing the gathering Manjeet Singh Jatt threw light on the life of Rajguru, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Singh and said that the role of these great freedom fighters was a turning point for country's independence and due to their sacrifices we got freedom. He also said the young generation of the country should get inspiration from them. Jatt also criticized Jammu Municipal Corporation for not installing a statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh chowk or anywhere in the Jammu inspite long pending demand of Jammu people.
Other who were present on the occasion were Vivek Gupta, Ravinder Choudhary, Sunil Choudhary, Karnail Singh, Jatinder Singh, Nirmal Singh, Dharminder Singh, Choudhary Baldev Raj, Manjeet Singh Sarkaria, Showkat and Tarsem Lal. National Students Union of India today celebrated the Shaheedi Diwas to remember the great heroes of India- Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, who laid down their lives on this very day to make India a free nation.
A large number of activists from NSUI J&K gathered at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk under the leadership of Raj Kamal Arya (State General Secretary), Feroz Khan (State General Secretary) and Rajveer Singh Manhas (President- University of Jammu). Amid loud sloganeering of "INQUALAAB ZINDABAD", "BHARAT MATA KI JAI", "BHAGAT SINGH AMAR RAHE", "SUKHDEV AMAR RAHE" and "RAJGURU AMAR RAHE" they paid rich floral tributes and garlanded portraits of these sons of soil.
Addressing the gathering Raj Kamal Arya said that it was a shame that people today have forgotten the sacrifices made by these great heroes. This can be well judged from the fact that the government has paid no heed to the long pending demand of NSUI to erect a statue of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at the chowk. Even the water tank that is installed in its place is not maintained or taken care of. He demanded the installation of the statue at the chowk and warned the government that if it is not done then NSUI shall start a mass movement against the government and agitations will take place. On the Shaheedi Divas of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru, activists of BJP under its president Rajesh Gupta organized a function at Ram Lila Maidan, Panjtirthi, to pay tributes to these three youth who sacrificed their lives for the cause of motherland.
The BJP leaders and a number of prominent residents of the area garlanded the portraits of this Trimurti and remembered their contribution towards inducing patriotic feelings among the youth. BJP State Secretary Yudhvir Sethi, on this occasion, said that the real tribute to the martyrs is always to learn from their lives and spread their ideas and principles among the masses with a motive to make them aware about the importance of being a citizenship of Independent nation.
Martyrs Day of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Ji, was observed on Tuesday at Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Headquarter by the District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) under the chairmanship of Om Chopra, ex-MLA.
Om Chopra while deliberating upon sacrifices made by the young martyrs i.e. Sukh Dev, Raj Guru and Sardar Bhagat Singh ji impressed upon the audience and young generation to imbibe the spirit exhibited by Shahid-I-Azam Bhagat Singhji. He also dwelt upon the family background based upon which the young Shahidi Bhagat Singh ji resolved to avenge the assault made upon Bharat Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai.
Dharam Pal Sharma, Senior Vice President PCC while elaborating the then circumstances of the un-liberated country exhorted the young generation to follow the foot prints of Shahid-I-Azam in true spirit.
Jammu Province Bank Employee Federation (JPBEF) and All India Students Federation (AISF) jointly held an exhibition of the photograph of freedom fighters at Shalamar Chowk, here on Tuesday. The exhibition was held to mark the Freedom Fighter day, which incidentally coincides with the martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru.The exhibition was inaugurated by R.C Kaul, Dy. General Manager Punjab National Bank, J&K operations.
Several political, non political organization and educational institutions celebrated 79th martyr day of the great heroes of India Sheed Baghat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev who laid their valuable lives for the cause of nation during freedom struggle of India. The Vivekananda College of education celebrated "Trimurti Balidaan Diwas" to pay homage to three great martyrs Baghat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev and the students of the college also performed a play about the real life of three heroes. The play reminded the hardships faced by revolutionaries during their struggle for independence and their sacrifices for the country without which it was not possible to make India free.
