Jammu, March 23: Ramnavmi, pious festival of Hindus being celebrated across the country of India by taking out religious processions, was banned by Jammu and Kashmir Government in Srinagar.
Condemnations pouring in includes of Chairman All Party Migrants Coordination Committee, Vinod Pandita termed the act as hierarchy of the state government and local administration. Pandita asked that on one hand government and their under ground agents by planting stories in print media are humiliating Kashmiri Hindus on the pretext of return to Valley and on the other hand government, administration and police officers are prohibiting to perform their religious rights.
Pandita asked a community in turmoil and declared internally displaced is not supposed to pay income tax while as habitants entrusting Constitution of India at their native places are supposed to pay electricity bills and drinking water bills at least if not taxes including to avail the one which state has to pay to centre to avail loans from world bank being usually paid by PM on behalf of J&K.
Pandita ridiculed Omar Abdullah for extending greetings to the people on the eve of Ram Navami as CM cannot allow the Hindus of Kashmir to celebrate their festival. He questioned that if religious festivals are not allowed on the soil of Kashmir then of which Kashmir Kashmiri Hindus are to be returned by successive governments. Hindus in Valley cannot move from Sheetal Nath to Hari Parbhat temples, how come government claims reduction of terrorism, Pandit asked.
