Jammu, Mar 24: Justice Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain of J&K High Court in a petition challenging the selection of Medical Officers of Indian System of Medicines (ISM) in district Poonch, has issued notice to State of J&K through Commissi-oner-Secretary Health & Medical Education, District Devel-opment Commiss-ioner Poonch, CMO Poonch, Assistant Director ISM Jammu. Two appointees returnable within a period of three weeks, meanwhile, Court after hearing Adv Abhinav Sharma, ordered that the selection of the Vaseem IRM and Raja Haider as Medical Officers is stayed.
Significant order has been passed in a petition filed by Dr. Tanveer Hadayat Khan through Adv Abhinav Sharma in which it has been alleged that the selection and appointment of private respondents as Medical Officer ISM Tehsil Surankote District Poonch is result of sheer favoritism shown to respondent No 5 by the official respondent particularly District Development Commissioner Poonch (Chairman District Health Society Poonch) as the first advertisement notice issued on August 17, 2009 which required one year experience in the field after obtaining degree. Whereas the private respondent No 5 did not possess one year experience after obtaining degree, yet her form was entertained by the VDC Poonch.
He further alleged that afresh notification issued on December 2, 2009 inviting fresh applications whereby the requirement of one year experience in the field after receiving degree was deleted and private respondent has been finally selected, the petitioner seeking for quashment of the entire selection of private respondent 5 & 6. --JNF |
