| Chib pays rich tributes to Capt Bahadur Singh | | |

JAMMU, Mar 24: Minister for Medical Education, R S Chib today said that freedom struggle of our country has produced patriots who laid their lives for the integrity and sovereignty and security forces played a vital role in defending the frontiers of great India.
Minister was addressing Shaheedi Divas function, observed at Bamboo Chak, Ramgarh, in memory of Capt Bahadur Singh, Virchakra, who laid down his life while fighting with encroachers on border on December 15, 1971.
Paying rich tributes to the martyr, Chib said that our forces made Supreme sacrifices in crushing militancy in the state which cannot be ignored. He said, Captain fought with bravery and strived for maintaining sanctity and honour of his country at the cost of his life. He said that different wings of security forces have a glorious past in guarding the borders and they have been fighting the enemies of nation at the time of any eventuality. Responding to various demands of local people, the Minister directed Additional deputy Commissioner accompanying him to formulate a project for construction of a 'Swarag' at the site of war memorial. On the occasion, the Minister distributed financial assistance among war widows of Bamboo Chak, sanctioned by Zila Sainik Board, Jammu in their favour. Former Minister Manjit Singh, Ex-MLA Parkash Sharma and Additional DC Samba were present on the occasion. |
