Divided house proving blessing in disguise for Congress

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Mar 24: Infighting and factionalism is proving as blessing in disguise for Congress party here in Jammu and Kashmir.
It is unbelievable but true as faction ridden Congress-with one headed by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Saif-Ud-Din Soz and another headed by Union Minister for Health Ghulam Nabi Azad-has topped while initiating public meetings and rallies of party workers and supporters in different parts of the state.
By organizing parallel functions and demonstrating show of strength against each other, Congress is steadily reaching to the masses and cadre thereby propagating party programmes, policies and developmental works, sources in Congress revealed to Early Times.
An important point to study is that none of the faction is leveling allegations or counter allegations against each other, however, projecting the performances of the Ministers in the respective camps, pointed out political observers. They further opined that the way Congress leadership-though via separate camps-is trying to touch each and every corner besides scaling mountainous terrains of militancy infested areas and interacting with the masses, it will be get a benefit in the forthcoming Panchayati and Civil polls.
Pertinent to mention here that in the past over two months, Congress party has organized maximum number of party rallies in almost all the assembly constituencies. Furthermore, it even organized impressive shows in those constituencies, which it lost in the previous Assembly elections to BJP.
While Ghulam Nabi Azad camp headed by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand along with other loyalists including ministers presented show of strength in Ramban, Okhral, Banihal, Chamb, R S Pura and Suchetgarh belts, loyalists of PCC president Saif-Ud-Din Soz organized party rallies in Rajouri, Poonch, Samba, Bishnah, Bajalta and different parts of Jammu.
In almost every function, Saif-ud-Din Soz denied any sort of factionalism and instead maintained no one is above the party and party is supreme. He, however, in his speeches, indirectly warned those (Azad loyalist) who are just projecting their works and not the party policies.
On the other hand, National Conference (NC) heading the coalition government supported by Congress, the main opposition parties PDP and BJP has failed to carry out their respective political activities at such a vast level, which may affect their prospects in forthcoming civil bodies and Panchayat elections.
