Council employees defer strike till April 5

JAMMU, Mar 25: In response to the assurance given by the Secretary State Sports Council that the matter will be sorted out within 10 days, the striking employees of the Council today deferred their 14-day long agitation till April five.
A delegation of the J&K State Sports Council Employees Association, which held deliberations with the Secretary today agreed to give some time to the government to come out with a solution to the problems.
"We have deferred the strike on the assurance of the Secretary, State Sports Council, S A Leharwal till April five. But at the same time, we have suggested that in case the 6th Pay Commission benefits are not given within 10 days, the strike will resume afresh after April five," general secretary of the Association, Iqbal Singh told Sports & Allied News.
