| Vikram to represent India in US “fellow” prog | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 25: Vikram Malhotra, son of the soil and general secretary of the National Youth Congress has been selected to represent India at the prestigious legislative fellow programme for South and Central Asia to be conducted by the US department of state under two-way exchange project for professionals and young leaders from India, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan and US. He will be one of the 16 participants selected from more than 400 applicants, through a series of interviews and interactive-brain storming sessions. The programme is aimed at devising ways of improving institutional capacity for promoting democratic ideas and good governance, gaining understanding of the US legislative process, enhancing their appreciation of the minority and immigrant experience in the United States, especially as it relates to political integration and governance, as to develop and implement projects in their country that promote good governance, civil society and democratic institutions, create linkage between American and Asian Governments.
