| Nazir ailing, NC leaders partying | | | ET REPORT JAMMU, Mar 25: Even as the stalwart of National Conference (NC) and party General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmad is indisposed and recuperating in Batra Hospital at New Delhi, his party colleagues are enjoying feasts here with out paying any attention to the well being of their senior most leader. Considered as doyen of politics in state by the experts and a father figure for not only Abdullah family but the entire National Conference, Sheikh Nazir is at the helm of party affairs since its inception. Ironically, the senior leader has been completely forgotten by his party men upon his falling sick as was evident from the fact that the news of Nazir suffering a mild cardiac attack was not conveyed in the media circles. Moreover, Nazir, the person who groomed NC and made it a political force to reckon with in the state, is not getting the party activists' notice on his ailing condition. "Instead of keeping a tab on their father figure's ailment and showing concern for the same, the party's senior leaders are occupying themselves in merrymaking thus Sheikh Nazir is being literally ignored in a 'mocking' manner by his own associates." said a party insider adding that the party leaders have even forgot to wish a speedy recovery to their beloved leader. He disclosed that a large number of MLAs, MLC and senior as well as other party functionaries were seen taking pleasure in attending a dinner party thrown by nominated MLA Bimla Luthra at her residence in Trikuta Nagar locality tonight. Some of the NC leaders while speaking to Early Times on condition of anonymity opined "Party functionaries as well as MLAs and MLCs should have avoided taking part in the dinner hosted by Bimla Luthra besides she should have deferred the function till the improvement of Nazir Saheb's condition." It is worthy to mention here that senior NC leader Sheikh Nazir was rushed to a hospital in New Delhi after he suffered a mild cardiac attack here on March 23. Suffering from cardiac ailment, Nazir had been earlier admitted in the Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu where he undergone treatment for some time. He was airlifted to New Delhi for specialized treatment and has been admitted in Batra hospital. According to party sources, Nazir is doing well and hoped that he will recover soon.
