Rahul Bhat who was recently in the city of temples, had an interaction with Early Times correspondent at Early's Times office in Jammu. Some of the excerpts of the interview:-
Born into a Kashmiri Pandit family, Rahul moved to Mumbai to fulfill his dreams in the nineties. Rahul started his career as a model and became India's top model overnight. His chiseled good looks, appeal and charm won the fashion world very quickly and he climbed the ranks to be the most sort after male model for ramp. He won the "FACE OF THE YEAR" (Photogenic) award in 1998.
He has modeled for all top designers of India, Manish Malhotra, JJ Vallaya, Vikram Phadnis, to name a few. He has launched several brands like Ponds, Breeze soap, Sprite, Newport jeans, etc. While continuing his work as India's supermodel, he was flooded with offers for film and television projects.
He played the role the lead male protegenist of Sameer on Sony TV HEENA. The the megahit tv series began to air in 1998 and ran for five seasons, finishing in 2003.
Under the banner of Filmtonic, Rahul Bhat has produced hit shows. As a producer, Rahul has been a very successful with his serials on DD1 and Zee TV - Meri Doli Tere Angana on Zee TV, Tum Dena Saath Mera and Chu Kar Mere Man Man Ko on DD1. He has acted in films like - Yeh Mohabattein and NAYEE PADOSAN.
Currently Rahul Bhat is collaborating on various scripts as Filmtonic prepares to launch itself in the film world.
Regarding the plight of Kashmiri migrants, Rahul said that Government is doing anything for KP's.
As far as employment package is concerned, he said, it is just a eye-wash and a cruel joke played with the sentiments of migrated people.
He questioned, if govt was sincere in rehabilitating for KP's, why they put conditions on job package. In democracy, there should be no conditions.
Why an agreement form is attached with the employment package, he ridiculed. On return, he said, there should be more confidence building measures and atmosphere should be made conducive for their honourable and dignified return.
Regarding military/Terrorism, he said that we should go to the root cause of the problem and right steps should be taken in that direction. As a human being, we must take genuine efforts to redress the problem.
Showering praise for the city of temples, he said, this is the place where I studied where I spend my teenage is the most beautiful place in this world.
He also praised the Dogra people for their bravery and the hospitality which they extend to their guests. He is looking forward to take cast from this place as there is no dearth of talent in Jammu.
As a son of the soil, he wishes to start a FTI type institute which will boost the youth of the state.
He also visited the Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi today.
My message to the people is to be united and never fall to rumours.
