| 'All PHC centres to have buildings in next 2 yrs' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Mar 26: Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma today assured the House that all Public Health Centres, functioning in rented accommodations in various parts of the State, would have buildings in next two years. He said the State Government was expecting to get a whooping Rs 400 crore, this year for consolidation of health infrastructure across the State. He said the funds, likely to be released in near future, was the part of Rs 2600 crore comprehensive plan submitted to the Centre for strengthening the health infrastructural base in the State at District, Sub- district, PHCs and other levels. The Minister also informed that the Government has also projected various proposals under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) for the next year. The Minister was replying to supplimentaries on a question by Javed Mustaffa Mir. Giving details about the measures taken to improve health service in Chadoora Constituency, the Minister said that 39 allopathic institutions are functioning in the Constituency, where 39 doctors are posted against sanctioned strengthened of 41. Similarly, he said that against 265 sanctioned para medical staff, 250 posts are filled. This, he said, is in addition to 36 doctors and para medical staff engaged under NRHM.
